About TALENTA CEST 2026

Advancements in artificial intelligence, automation, and low-carbon technologies, alongside challenges such as climate change, urbanization, resource constraints, and the growing complexity of socio-technical systems, necessitate a more integrated approach to engineering. Future challenges can no longer be resolved through a sector-specific lens; instead, they require cross-disciplinary collaboration that connects technology, the environment, people, infrastructure, industry, resources, and economic systems.

In response to these pressing needs, the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Sumatera Utara is organizing the 7th TALENTA Conference on Engineering, Science, and Technology (TALENTA CEST 2026). The theme for this year's conference is:

"Smart, Green, and Resilient Engineering: Solutions for a Sustainable Future"

This theme positions Smart, Green, and Resilient as three complementary pillars:

Smart
The use of smart technologies
Green
Sustainability and resource efficiency
Resilient
Strengthening capabilities against risks and disruptions

TALENTA CEST 2026 is designed as a multidisciplinary international conference. This event will not only serve as a venue for disseminating research findings but also provide a platform for research networking, academic collaboration, industry engagement, and student capacity building, while enhancing the international visibility of the Faculty of Engineering and Universitas Sumatera Utara.
