Abstract

The rectangular patch is most common form used in microstrip antenna. A variety of feeding technique for the rectangular patch had been much developed. This paper present a comparison between rectangular patch microstrip antenna (RPMSA) using aperture-coupled technique and direct microstrip line. Both of the RPMSA designed and simulated by AWR simulator. Based on the optimal simulation results for the resonant frequency of 2.4 GHz, the RPSA that used aperture-coupled technique has dimensions of 34x25 mm2, 83.9 MHz bandwidth and gain reached 5.691 dB. Whereas the RPSA that used microstrip line direct has the dimensions, bandwidth and gain are 40x29 mm2, 62.1 MHz and 6.179 dB, respectively.
